Serving the amateur radio community in Dubois and surrounding Indiana Counties by fostering, educating, and developing amateur radio.   By further developing our communications skills and capabilities we enhance our enjoyment and understanding of what amateur radio has to offer.

How it all began ……. What started for Mike Vogler as simply listening to short-wave radios as a kid eventually led to some dabbling with ham radio in the 1980s.  But other factors, such as his career and family, kept him from putting significant time and effort into amateur radio operations.   However, after retiring and moving back to Celestine in 2010, Vogler noticed that even though there were hams in the area, Dubois County lacked a dedicated club that could connect the various operators with others who shared their interest and enthusiasm in amateur radio.  He thought it would be a good time to grow the hobby and start a club in order to recruit, educate, and attract more people into ham radio. And in 2015, the Patoka Valley Amateur Radio Club was born.  And in the years that followed, our organization continues to grow as we expand our services and offerings to further develop our amateur radio community.
